I entered this competition after applying for road tax online at the end of December, and haven't heard anything. I did get a phonecall from a Seat garage, but then again, I actually own one, so I guess that's OK :D

Nothing here, 1 x SORN and 1 x tax.

I did mine 6 months ago (as I damn well expected the tax to increase in April and it made a saving to do this) and no Seat bumpf, just taxed again for 12 months and entered again.

I entered a DVLA/Seat competiton 6 months ago via the website and haven't had any phone calls or mail, maybe there was a tick box to opt out, I can't remember.
You can enter the DVLA competitions online without taxing your car, I did this as there was something appealing about entering a competition designed to encourage you to tax your car online without doing so, I taxed it at the post office as usual.

We will keep your information confidential except where disclosure is required or permitted by law (for example to government bodies and law enforcement agencies). Generally, we will only use your information within DVLA, however, sometimes DVLA uses third parties to process your information. The DVLA will require these third parties to comply strictly with its instructions and the Data Protection Act 1998. DVLA service providers are also contractually required
From the link provided - doesn't look as if they share data with Seat.
