i want that white xjs.
seems very cheap for what it is.

The XJS wasn't 'No reserve' was it?
It does state 'I have not put a reserve on this vehicle...' in the item description.

I think most of us love the unique look of that XJS, conveniently forgetting the lack of space in the cabin.
I well remember trying to shoehorn myself into the tunnel that comprises the drivers' accomodation.
Like many sports grand tourers of its kind, its a huge car, but the room inside is surprisingly lacking.
Your whole lower body disappears into the underdash area, it can be a little caustrophobic.
I wouldn't say no to it though had i the room and a tame indy to help me afford to run it.;)
Wonder if anyone will ever make such a strikingly different car again, at a relatively affordable price.

"I think most of us love the unique look of that XJS, conveniently forgetting the lack of space in the cabin."
I've had a lot of sex in the cabin of an XJS - it's plenty big enough.
I was once in an underground car park where I worked, I was just about to drive off when a P.A. waving her arms around caught my attention. I didn't know her but had smiled at her a couple of times so when she flagged me down I thought I'd be changing a flat tyre or something. All she wanted though, was to sit in the Jag. Needless to say, within two minutes I was at first base - what the XJS may or may not lack in cabin space it makes up for in sex appeal. It does all the hard work for you.
I closed the deal a week later after a book-launch at Stringfellows as I recall.

So Slim Bad Dave???
These are quite fanciable too: tinyurl.com/9gajph

You know what, I think the XK8 is a truly beautiful motor car, but it just doesn't do it for me. On the other hand, the XJS seems to have been built with me in mind.

Mind you, £5,500 is entering seriously affordable territory.

Seem to remember reading somewhere that you can buy an XJS which is to all intents and purposes a modern car but still looks like an original. No idea if I dreamed that. Now that would indeed be whistling dixie......

Check out the KWE website. It's just undergone a makeover itself.
I think if I won the lottery I'd spend the whole lot with them.

Just did thanks.
Also just bitten half my hand off.....................

"Also just bitten half my hand off....................."
Aren't they just the business?
Makes me mad when I see all these idiot monkey footballers spending all that money on the wrong cars.

Why? Would you rather a mint XJS cost £40k not 4k??? And if so, why? (If only I had a garage. But there doesn't seem ANY point in owning a car like that for it to rot on the street. And £50 a week for a garage is just silly money on a worthless car. And I'd still have to have a second car for when it's raining, or for moving cement/washing machines etc. and I use a car so little.)
BTW, isn't that a car that looks hideous in silver. At ANY price.

"BTW, isn't that a car that looks hideous in silver. At ANY price."
Absolutely, anything but silver.
"Why? Would you rather a mint XJS cost £40k not 4k?"
I'd never drop £40k on a car personally but millions do every year, I just think if more of them spent it on KWE Jags, then these wonderful cars would be on the road well into the future and perhaps you and I could enjoy these far superior models for 4k in a few years time.

>>a book-launch at Stringfellows<< Have a lot of words in it this book? Or was it more the 'pictorial' variety?

My apologies - I didn't read all of the stuff!

I bought a car on Ebay from the chaps in Mapmaker's second link at the top, came all the way down from Glasgow to pick it up - they said they'd had a chap from Edinburgh down the week before. Just a small operation from a collection of car-related units in a wee village, but looks like they load up on ex-fleet and lease cars, usually higher mileage, but immaculately prepared and turned out.
I think whether you get them particularly cheaply depends on whether someone else out there is particularly interested in the same auction you are, but I have seen some real bargains go out through their Ebay account - the majority are diesel repmobiles, but some of the petrol Subarus and other big stuff tends to go stupidly cheap. A few recent eye-opening cheapies:

Damn, I almost feel like my secret is out, even though I don't plan on buying another car from them in the immediate future!

>>Petrol subarus
How did you guess what my next car will be. I reckon 1k will buy an 02/03 100k FSH Legacy.
I almost feel like my secret is out,
You only have to look at the quality of their listings and their feedback.
I still want to know where they're buying their cars from and yet managing to make a profit...
