As the Saw Doctors once sang "I have fallen for another, you can find your own way home...."
Have I had my head turned by a sexy Italian or is it a holiday romance?
Just back from Italy where instead of the Focus Estate I reserved, the nice lady at AVIS gave us a 159 Turbo Diesel Estate and I have say it was a terrific car and just lovely to look at.
The urgency of the engine was a delight and made my 2.5 Legacy seem positively dull. A pleasure to be at the wheel and apparently no weird habits after two weeks of driving.
Any owners care to comment?

Actually, if you squint a bit, in dim light, from a distance, and if you are just glancing and not really concentrating........Signums look a bit similar.........they do !.............
Well "ish".......

Hmmm
there aren't many cars that would entice me out of the Outback (bearing in mind Nsar that I have the 3.0 litre flat six, so a bit more interesting than the 2.5 - sorry!), but a nice Alfa would be one of them, if only the reliability was even just 10% worse than the Subaru.
As it is, I staying put.

When my passat was off the road years ago I ended up with a 2.0TS 156 (only 165PS) but I liked it a lot. A bit too small but for a short term car it was fun etc. Didn't want the Passat back after the few months ;-)
If Alfa was on the company list and not too expensive I'd consider it but not an option - then reliability would not be my problem.

Ah yes Espada, but it might might the grim reality of ASDA in Pilsworth a little more like being at an AGIP in Puglia!

Do it Nsar........They are gorgeous...............want one.

They have to be one of the nicest looking cars on the road.

Beautiful car. Mind you, so was the 156.
I'd love to try the 2.4 JTD 200PS. This engine was a peach in 175PS guise in the 156. So much grunt, and such a wonderful noise (yes, really).
Cheers

Yes, go on, admit it!
Everyone who isn't a slave of the Blue Oval is in the same position.
The 159 isn't as pretty as the later 156, sadly - a bit 'over-styled' to my eye - but still gorgeous and just right with the 150bhp 1.9 lump.
