the heater system will only give cold air choose where i position the temp control knob
the engine temp is up to normal with no coolant lose.

what do you think is the cause, and how do you get to the control mechanism/valve, is controlled by cables, vacuum or what

your help in this matter would be very much appreciated

Two possibles:

Air lock in the heater matrix - has the coolant been changed recently?

Failure of the servos that control the air flaps on the heater. All hidden behind the dash/glovebox, and a pain to remove.

My 405 is the other way round - heater on all the time. Roll on winter!

thanks for your efforts on this problem, no air lock is apparent suspect the flap arrangement. What actually goes wrong, and how do you get into the area, is it a complete dash out job, or can you semi strip to gain access

Thanks Gordon
