Can anyone help. I'm getting a periodic loss of power when the engine is cold and under load. This seems to be cleared by dipping the clutch.

Any clues? Driving me nuts and intermitant

Not a lot to go on; have you had it plugged-in to check things like the coolant temp sensor's readings?

just worried that because it's intermittant the garage might not pick up an error?

As always; it depends on the man operating the scanner. There may be no fault-codes, but the mass of live data can speak volumes to someone who really understands it.

Are the plugs genuine Renault ones?

it happened before it was serviced by a non-renault garage and still afterwards so same effect on Renault and (I assume ) non Renault plugs.

car was serviced at 18k by Renault, fault started at about 35k, serviced again at 38k by non-Renault garage and fault still there periodically

still doing it when engine is cold, feels like fuel starvation. Wierdest thing is if you press the clutch it clears. Then if it comes back, dip the clutch again and it clears. Ok when the engine is warm.
I've never seen anything like this before...sounds like some clutch sensor..if there are any?
Any ideas?

Finally sorted by local Garage, faulty Lamda sensor that gave occassional emissions warning light. They were sceptical it would sort this out but when they changed it the problem dissapeared. Cost £160 to get fixed with original parts
