2002 1.0 Location of Transmission Fluid Reservoir - Surj
Hi,

I've looked for it but haven't been able to find it on the wifes corsa.
Anyone know where I would find it on the engine bay as it's not very obvious?

Cheers

I'm pretty sure the 'reservoir' will be the transmission itself.

Is this a manual/automatic/easytronic, and what are your symptoms?

Hi there. It's a manual and it's sometimes quite difficult to engage 1st gear.
I've been told it could be the linkages but thought I'd get the opinion of the learned folk on here and see if a top-up has a positive effect.

I would go for a linkage problem here. This is a very common fault on this model. The plastic pivits wear out and cause a floppy gearshift.Part costs around £45.hth

the linkage is a known weak point in this model, you top up the gearbox and diff unit by removing the breather plug (17 mm in size black plastic cap on it on top of gearbox where the selector turret is bolted) and the level plug is beside the nearside driveshaft as it comes out of the diff 13mm head taper fit into diff with a magnet on it dont over tighten it when refitting

Wow, excellent responses guys, just what I was hoping for.
I think bearing in mind my ability, that'll hand this over to a friendly mechanic.
Thanks again!
