Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 93 1.4 Cambelt Failure!!!

93 1.4 Cambelt Failure!!! - hicksy
Hi There,
My friend has a L plate peugeot 306 its a 1.4 petrol enigine, basically his cambelt has snapped and i was wondering if anyone would know if the valves would definately touch i know some cars do and some dont but i dont know much about this one! we are trying to get a rugh idea of the damage and whether it would need a new set of valves and head skimming or whether it would be better get another engine for it! or even scrap it! can anyone help?

It is listed as an interference engine, so bent valves are likely.

However; it's an easy one to fit a belt to; so fit one and try it.
