1993 1.9DT - Brake caliper slides - jonlucpicard
Hi, i recently replaced the pads on my 1993 405 GLDT and i noticed that one of the caliper slides has siezed. It won't budge. I fitted the pads and the brakes work fine but i need to get this fixed asap. My question is how? Is there a repair kit available and how do i fit it? Or will i need to replace the caliper mounting bracket and can this be bought seperatly from the caliper?
Cheers
Jon

will it not come out with a bit of heat on the sliding part ?
I am not saying to cook it but just enough heat to release the grip of the old set grease on the pin

I'm not familiar with the set up on the 405, but does the caliper bolt to to carrier with a pair of caliper pins? usually a couple of allen key head bolts through the caliper?

Repair kits are generally available which consist of the pins, the bushes that the pins run through and some grease.
