The engine has started stalling when the revs drop; when going into neutral at traffic lights for example. Problem worse when the engine is hot. Started as an intermittant problem but now very frequent. Also when engine is hot the throttle sticks in the closed position. No other engine problems noted.

It will be your idle air control valve. Only comes in to play when the motor has warmed up.
It's on the front of the throttle body, has a two wire power connector for the solenoid plunger, and is held on by 4 no2 posidrive screws. Take off the air filter to get access. There is a cardboard gasket between it and the throttle body, you may need to replace this when you fit the iac valve after cleaning its insides with carb. cleaner spray. Or you could just try squirting carb cleaner at it in situ (probably wont work). Clean it and its good for another 50K miles. If the throttles sticking shut it could need a spray with carburetor spray anyway, take the air cleaner of and see how gunked the engine side of the butterfly valve is.
