Local station (Total branded) has 6 diesel pumps. 4 seem to dispense Total "Excellium" which is 128.9p per litre. Fortunately I read the unit price on the LCD dsplay before I started dispensing fuel. I jib at paying 123.9 but I wonder how many other people check the unit cost per litre on the pump before they start filling their tank? Does the garage really expect that much demand for premim diesel or do they rely on people just filling their tank without checking the price?

Friend of mine dropped a clanger the other day at a local BP garage.
Filled up with the diesel pump, put in about 20 litres, and went into pay.Thought he had been ripped off,as he got charged more than was advertised, and came away wondering what had happened.
Rung me up to tell me,and I told him that he'd had put ultimate diesel in by picking up the wrong nozzle, thinking it was standard diesel.
To say he felt a prat would be an understatement.
Pays you to watch what your doing.

I always look at the price before pulling the trigger as a check to make sure I'm filling up with the right stuff. Unleaded in my case.
Although once I've checked, I try to forget about the price as soon as possible!

I made this mistake with Shell V-Power Diesel a couple of weeks ago in the wife's Trajet. There was no noticeable difference in performance, economy or driveability.
Last week we deliberatlely put in cheap bio-Diesel. No comments about ecomony yet, but performance and driveability are improved. Car is certainly smoother when cold and less noisy when warm.

I worked in one ages ago, and when the tanker came, the boss usually got the driver to put some 4 star into the 5 star tank, so it was nearer 4 and a half star. No-one ever noticed, well, no customers.

Local station (Total branded) ................ premim diesel ...........
Be careful how you use the word "premium" in relation to Total fuel. You'll find that their 95 RON petrol is branded "Premium".
