99 2.0hdi Strange noise coming out from the engine - Strange noise
I just baught a Peugeot 406 executive hdi 110 bhp , and a strange noise is coming out from the engine when starting, Pegueot expertise told me that it's coming out from the flywheel, because it is with a dumper, as I'm not too thecnical ....
The noise is like a slipping belt , like a whistle..
The second noise is coming from the engine when I load it , or beetwen gears, the same like a small whistle this time ...

Any one can help me with this problem please ?

Squeaking noises from the clutch housing of a 110 HDi are often a failing dual-mass flywheel. [Circa £1000 to fix]

Make sure that it's not coming from the front pulley on the engine, as those fail too.

Both of these faults will quickly develop into disasters and that could write the car off. Get an expert ear applied ASAP.
