54 D5 Tyre Pressures, can you help? - naik72
dear all

i have only recently purchased this car and i am somwhat confused about tyre pressure in my 224/45/17 pirreli P7 tyres. According to the manual they should have 38psi or 41psi if fully loaded, this seems rather a lot compared to my other cars where the average would be a lot lower. Incidently i currently have 38psi in all tyres and it does feel like a rather hard drive? should i lower them to ..say 35psi? your advice would be appreciated

On my S60 it states 31 with up to 3 people, and 41 with 4 plus luggage, i run with 36 all the time, mine are 225/40/18's and are the same for 17's.

the hard ride due to higher tyre pressure is the price you pay for low profiles

I saw a link to a website posted on here somewhere which gave wheelnut torque and a fixed tyre pressure for each model.
When I looked this site for a Volvo S60 they recommended 29psi all round.
Checking the filler flap, the lowest Volvo recommend is 31psi at the front and 30psi rear for two up. I run 36psi allround, less feels very sluggish, more feels like piloting a spacehopper (who remembers those ? - that's another forum...)
