2000 (w reg) 1.7D - Starting with a misfire - Andrea
Could anyone help-
The problem I am having with my car is that it seems to be burning the heater plugs out , we fitted a new set approx 6 months ago and now when starting when cold has a misfire . We have noticed that a black plastic type deposit is building up around the heater plug where it screws into the cylinder head which makes removing the heater plugs extremely difficult.

Starting with a misfire - injection doc
I asume its a 1.5d & make of glow plugs your using? & a faulty injector may well shorten the life of a glow plug

(1.7D actually. Found info from a previous question)

Apologies to all who replied to my earlier message , I realised that I had left off the year of manufacture and engine size and tried to edit the message but was unable to .Unfortunately we do not know the make of the glo-plugs.
