General question - MOT Test requirements - catalyst2
Does the MOT test check the spare tyre's tread? If so, was this the case a year ago.

Tyres
This inspection applies to:-
Tyres fitted to the road wheels only. The vehicle presenter should be informed when it is noticed that there is a defective tyre on a spare wheel.

So yes, it's checked, but the car can't be given a fail if it's defective. Been that way since I started driving (over 20 years)

Its only checked even then when its on view , ie slung in a cage below the vehicle. If it is contained in a well in the boot its not even looked at.
