This evening someone parked totally on the pavement on a blind bend in our road.
The good news is that later the traffic lads arrived and parked in the road behind it.
A few minutes ago a flat bed truck arrived to remove it ( close to 22:00hrs.)
Just proves that the traffic boys are at work tonight and IMO doing a good job.
It was a very very strange way to park. Our road is a quiet crescent with all houses having a driveway and often parking for 2/3 cars. There is plenty of space to park in the road in that vicinity.
It may just be coincidence but the chopper was hovering close to the area for about 30 mins just before dark and it is also very rare to see a traffic car in our road.
It maybe that it had been reported because it was almost blocking the pavement though very few pedestrians would be passing it.
An expensive start to Christmas for someone !

Yup has been stolen and dumped, recovered to the pound for evidence.

That could well fit the situation especially as it was parked opposite an alleyway.
If it had been parked normally instead of neatly on the pavement it would probably have stayed there for quite a while ( it would be accepted as a visitor over Christmas) unless of course the traffic boys were searching for it.
As I left a little earlier on in the evening the traffic car was proceeding gently in at the end of the road.
I will see if the local press reports anything.

Of course, it could have broken down and belonged to a policeman's wife........... (is that not one of their perks?)

As a GP who has had to look after the families of policemen, it would be rare for them to extend such a courtesy to their wives.
