Hi all
I'm going to Arnhem at the end of March next year (Friday 28th) to go a concert at the Gelredome.
Now I'm struggling to find anywhere to stay at a resonable price, all the B&Bs seem to be fully booked and I don't want to pay a huge amount for a hotel for one night.
So what I was thinking would be to find a B&B on the drive back to Calais, so outside of Arnhem. Wouldn't mind driving for, say, an hour towards Calais after the show.
Any suggestions?

Well look no further:-
I can recommend the Hotel Foch in Cassel (see previous mentions here) cracking accommodation and superb food. (they're on t'interweb and speak excellent English) or Varlet Farm near Ypres....A breakfast you'll never forget and a cracking non commercial welcome in both places.

Thanks for recommendations but they're a little too far from Arnhem. Cassel about 3hrs and Ypres about 2hrs 40mins.
Anywhere closer? :-)

Have a look across the border in Germany, particulary, Kleve, Emmerich and Rees; they may not be so affected by a concert in Holland. Also there will be some rural B&B, just a matter of locating them. I worked in that area for many years although not recently.

If you don't mind the "basic" elements then why not consider the Formula1-style hotels? We stayed at Hotel Premiere Class (part of the Louvre Hotels Group) in Breda which was fine and right alongside a more upmarket hotel and cheap! Because it was quiet they sent us there fore our breakfast, very nice it was, too!

's Hertogenbosch (abbreviated to Den Bosch) will have what you need, and it's on your way to/from Arnhem. It's a bit under three hours from Calais in normal driving, and about an hour from Arnhem.

Many thanks for your suggestions.
I've booked a double room at Hotel Premiere Class in Breda for 45euros for one night.
According to MSN maps it's an hour from Arnhem and on the road to and from there.
I've read some mixed reviews on the Hotel Premiere Class so it's good to hear from someone who's actually been. Thanks b308, I'm expecting 'basic'

We used it for about three days a couple of years ago - stayed in a nice hotel in Utrecht for a few days and then "slummed it"! Its much the same as all the other similar hotel chains, I wish we had more of them over here! Its right alongside a more upmarket hotel (can't remember the name but part of the same group), they do food and drink!!
BTW the best "cheapo" we've found us Mister Bed which are just as cheap but have toilets in the rooms, they only seem to be in France, though.....
