Golf Mk 3 - Split CV Boot - cottontop

Hi,

Whilst changing a flat tyre I notices that the CV boot was split. I'm pretty sure its recent as I checked them both a couple of months ago before the MOT/Service. Whats the rough cost to get them replaced ? Im pretty sure most of it will get put on labour as its a fiddly job. I don't have the time nor the patience/ability to do it myself.

Any ideas folks ??

You can get split boots for a few quid that involves no disassembly of the car to fit, and are glued together. Having never used one myself I cannot say wether they are as good as the "real thing" or not.

'Split' boots are a complete waste of time. I have tried to use them a number of times and they always fail.

Get an OE VW boot. Reckon on an hour to do it, its not difficult.
