Heathrow short-stay parking - flunky
Going to be driving to Heathrow tomorrow @ 6am to pick someone up. Has anyone been there since last weekend's attacks and can tell me if the multi-storey short-stay car park is open and/or if I need to allow significantly longer?

Flew in last week e.g. peak security & the police were stopping everthing that wasn't a sherbet or a bus at arrivals or pick up. I'd suggest the McDonalds down the road & get the people to phone you when ready for collection, when through baggage reclaim, customs etc. Then drive to short stay & pick them up there. It's only a few quid for 15minutes.

I assume a longhaul flight at that time of the morning.
Check the arrival time on Ceefax or online tonight.
e.g. BA is www.britishairways.com/travel/arrdep/public/en_gb
or the BAA www.heathrowairport.com/

If it is T4, the very early aircraft often do not dock on the terminal but are parked distant at the Cargo Centre and folks bussed in so passenger arr time is a little later.( noise abaatement)
I always hover in Tescos ( Half a mile south of Hatton Cross towards Feltham ) and wait for a call.
It is very very quick to zip down the A30 and flyover to the terminal.

T3 (or T1/2) . I hover near the BAA visitor centre on Northern perimeter road ( 1st lights East of the ramp to the tunnel) and again wait for a call.

Henry, when you have hovered and received the call, whereabouts do you do the actual pick-up? Are you able to avoid a short-stay car parking charge? I'll have to pick SWMBO (plus large case) up from terminal 4 in mid-August. I have previously gone to the drop-off area adjacent to 'departures', but this may no longer be possible.
Cheers, Waino.

seemed to be exactly as normal - no police to be seen, and no delays.

Collected eldest daughter at 1300 Terminal 1 on Thursday. No problems, just random stop/check by the roundabout where the BA Concord model used to stand.
