Peugeot 206 1.4 GLX variable revs - drew1103
I have a problem with my Peugeot 206 1.4 GLX 'W' Reg. When I stop the car at junctons, light, ets, the revs drop to around 500 rpm and then the engine cuts out, I have to feather the throttle to keep it going. On the other hand, sometimes when I change down the revs hit 3000rpm and I need to turn off the engine. This is provng a little tiresome if not dangerous. Any ideas appreciated.

Poss Idle control valve (sometimes called the stepper motor)

i had the same problem with my 1.4 lx x reg 206, turned out to be a dirty air filter, since i had it changed it never did it again.
tho it could be a fluke i dont know but for a few quid its worth a try.

Have got a man with a computer coming round to give it a whirl. But he says that if the ECU hasn't logged the problem, he may not find it, but for £50 it's worth a try.
