Renault Clio 1.4 RT starting problem - nemerson33
I have a Renault Clio 1.4 RT on an 'N' plate. The car has single point injection and is an automatic. I came to start it yesterday and it did not fire up, although the engine did turn. Usually when you turn the ignition on you get a relay click under the bonnet, the fuel pump buzzes and the fast idol speed udjusts itself on the throttle body. It is not doing this? My friend who is a mechanic came to have a quick look yesterday and he bridged one of the relays and the car started but when you took the keys out the engine kept running but there was severe load on the alternator. All other systems are fine, the dash comes on fine and all fuses have been checked. My gut feeling is it could be one of these relay's? But if anyone else has any other idea's I will give it a try.
