Number plate theft - a partial solution? - local yokel

Most taxis now have the cab's make and model printed on the plate.

My suggestion is that where the dealer normally puts his info along the bottom of the plate, could be used instead for:

"Colour, make, model" - while it won't be apparent on a moving vehicle, it would be very obvious when parked/stopped.

I can get plates made up on the tinernet now, and one of the option they offer is make model colour.....

Point taken. Sorry, I'm a bit slow in understanding the motivations to nick a number plate. (I'm afraid all of this doesn't come naturally.)>> ANPR does not yet read the colour of the car.........
