I passed my Mazda 323 (model year 2001) on to a friend.
He would like to insert a CD player into the modular audio system.
I've visited a Mazda dealer and asked the parts dept if they could source a CD player for the 323. They told me that there is nothing listed for a CD player against a 323 in the parts catalogue.
It does sound strange that a CD isn't available. Before I try another dealer, has anyone out there acquired a 323 CD player recently? Or, instead of obtaining one via Mazda, is there an equivilent oem version that's suitable?

Why an oem 1 ?
Consider an aftermarket 1, full range from cheap to top end is available and will only need adaptor to fit ?

SWMBO had a 323F 1.6GSi, registered Nov '01. I was able to get a single disc CD player added to the radio by the local Mazda garage. £160 fitted IIRC.
Maybe no longer stocked because it is not a current model?
Seems a lot of confusion around over 323 and 323F designations. Check the V5.

I have seen this type of player on sale in ebay as the Modular system would fit 323, Premacy & MPV models from 2000 to 2003
