Sat in a car park waiting for the family I watched the following:
Yesterday, late afternoon in Abergavenny, there was an elderly chap standing with his car - rear end removed - while parked in a side road near the loading entrance to a food store. Two chaps were talking to him and on a mobile, presumably to the police. Shortly afterwards two police cars roared up, lights flashing, and boxed in a large lorry belonging to a well-known freezer food store and took the driver over to the damaged car.
Lots of negative talk about the police, hemmed in by the Government, but I thought this was a brilliant speedy reaction.

Excellent! Makes a change from getting a crime number over the phone and then a letter starting "Dear Victim"

I'm afraid you got it slightly wrong - the old chap was done for having no rear lights, no rear indicators and no rear number plate. Another "crime" solved.

oh yes Dulwich don't let a good news story get in the way get in the way of good old fashioned prejudice.
