mk 3 fiesta exhaust rattle - milkyjoe
hi, i have a bit of a rattle on my exhaust,i looked under the car and thier is a join just aft of the sump with two spring loaded bolts,sticking out are two tabs and they are rattling on the exhaust should they be bent over the nuts or are they there just to annoy me?

They are locking tabs. Supposed to work by sitting against the flange as you tighten the nuts.

Sounds like they have worked loose. Re tighten the nuts/bolts, but you may find you cant rely on the tabs and have to use two spanners.

In between those springs is a olive gasket that as worn away if you replace that gasket it won't rattlle anymore!!
