VW parts, Needed - martin
Hi all

I need to get hold of a good VW parts dealer, something that comes with a gurantee, that has been reconditioned as opposed to ripped off a knacked old dog. Main dealer are just silly prices (such as £85 for a resistor!!!!).

any ideas much appreciated

thanks!

Way back I ran an 81 1100 Golf 3D bought in 92 with 87K recorded which I ran for a couple of years without any real problems at all. However when adjusting gap found that due to wear in the main bearings of distributor could not obtain consistant gapping.
Scrapyard distributors either wrong type or equally worn so to the main VW shop for New one. AAgh. was the sort of money I paid for the car almost. The company I worked for then exported material to the continent and we used to receive regular visits from German Haulage Co. Drivers of these always bought welcome supplies of duty free fags and booze and chatting to one of these lads mentioned the problem I was having with this 'German Car'.Say no more he took part nr et.et. and following week returned with brand new distributor. Cost me £35. plus some Banks Ale at lunchtime . Those were the days - not that long ago!!!!

German and Swedish - but make sure u r not buying some dodgy pattern part. Their ads usuallu say whether genuine or pattern. The blokes there also run VW's themselves and will not rip u off.
