I have an X reg focus. Just lately the dials will flicker the engine managment light will come on and the dashboard lights go blank so I can't see the milage. I stop the car, turn off engine and wait a couple of minutes. Switch engine on and everything is fine for 30 or 40 miles then it does it again. Been to 4 different garages who have said that the car is fine we cannot find any fault. Can anyone help?

There is also a simple way of putting the dials in to a "test" mode by pressing buttons in specific sequence or somesuch, but I didn't find it from a fast search of the Back Room. Someone else will be along soon to provide the info, I'm sure!

Seems to be "Hold the trip reset button in and turn on the engine. Keep pressing to cycle through the many different options."

Came up with a code of 9318. When I asked my local garage what this code means they would not say. Can anyone tell me?

Code 9318 is battery voltage low.
