Whilst looking around the engine bay of my car I noticed the aircon compressor looks wet, and when looking under it there seems to be a green coloured liquid dripping from it. Especially the area where the 2 pipes enter the compressor. Is the liquid PAG oil? The aircon works fine and cools well. Is this a sign that somethings failing?

Thanks
Josh

Probably leak detection dye, meaning you havea leak.

SFAIK this leak detecting dye is only visible under UV light.

Dont forget condensing causes cooling (so my science teacher told me anyways) the green might be monster blood or a combination of water and copper?
keep your eye on it see if the compressor gets noisier is what i would do if you dont fancy going to an aircon con man

Regretfully, I don't think your science teacher was quite the fount of wisdom on this subject.

Condensing liberates heat - specifically, latent heat - hence the condensor is outside in the cooling air, because it gets hot.

Not if it's reasonably concentrated with oil. Think washing-up liquid in the bottle.
