firstly i would like to say hi.
vehicle in question is a peugeot 306
now my problem is that i have which can probably be best described as a graunching sound like something is trying to be ripped out. this seems to happen only when pulling away from rest with any sort of more than average acceleration.
please anyone with ideas of what it could be, please reply i will be greatful.
thanks.

Is it continuous or does it only happen for x seconds while accelerating?
Start with the basics - are the wheel arch liners in place correctly? Is there anything caught or loose around the wheels/suspension?

Probably a failed 'p bush" on the lower suspension arm, very common on 306's. Easy job to check if the end of the arm is loose in the bush using a short lever. Only use genuine peugeot replacements if it is these.
