focus or golf (or clone)

focus or golf (or clone) - rcflyers
I am looking to buy a diesel car up to 3500 in value. should i go for a v reg focus, an r reg golf or a newish skoda or seat vw clone. fuel economy is more important than power and it does needs to be focus sized and a 5 door hatch with aircon. any comments please?

If it was my choice it would be the focus.
Much better car IMO and should be more reliable.
The r reg Golf will not handle anywhere near as good as the focus either.

Can't comment on the Focus, but on the Golf go for an Octavia SLX / Elegance. 110bhp and climate control, plus a huge boot.

£3500 gets you a T/V reg one in my area (Bath). Seems high to me, hunt around and try and get a X reg onwards. The reasoning behind that i part exchanged my W reg 120,000 miler for £2k last year.
