VW Bora Central Locking problem - Neil McK

I was wondering if anyone out there can help me identify an issue with my wife's Bora.

Sometimes when the doors are locked using the remote the indicators don't flash as normal. The doors seem to lock ok, and the interior/puddle lights all work fine.

Has anyone encountered this before and know what the fix is before I take it to the dealer to get them to check it.

I do recall somewhere in the handbook saying that if the indicators don't flash then the alarm isn't active.

That could well be a problem with one of the door lock mechanism switches. If so, VW will replace the unit for you, alternaively you could attempt a DIY repair, here's a guide:

Check the bonnet switch is clean and in good condition.
