Hi, I have just replaced my radiator on a p reg Rover 214. every thing seems fine apart from the fact my heaters are not warming up. the engine will get warm and the fan is cutting in, just no heat.(They did work before I changed the rad.) Any help would be welcome as its freezing.

You will have an airlock, check your heater hoses when the engine is hot,if they are cold then no coolant is going thru them.Don't know the car but there may be bleed valves at top point of system to facilitate getting air out.

coolant return pipe, should have bleed screw located close to block on passenger side of car.
if not, undo jubilee clip on right hand pipe(matrix return pipe)on bulkhead (bit tight to get to)pull pipe to just off matrix pipe, should see air then water push back on and retighten clip, that should cure it.
Also check operation of valve on inlet side of matrix they do fail but doesnt sound like the problem

Put heater control to full hot, turn off fan and run engine at about 4,500rpm. for two minutes. You need the high rpm.to put sufficient flow thro' the system to get any air out of the heater matrix and the water valve wide open(full hot) to ensure no restriction to the flow.
