Road Fund Licence expires at the end of March. Should I have received my form from the DVLA by now?
I've had mine for a week, but I think that was a bit earlier than normal. If you have a computerised MoT or your car is not three years old yet why not see if you can renew online?
Unless by special arrangement for those abroad etc then one can licence a vehicle 14 days before the start of the month on a continuation. They generally send out reminders to hit thgis deadline so maybe Postie will have something am tomorrow.
Irrespective of that you can get Form V10 from Post Office and Reg Doc, Insurance etc and do the business.

Berlingo's tax expires this month; V11D arrived Thursday. Will renew on line when I can see March salary!
One of the fleet's tax expired without a reminder from DVLA. Neighbour noticed mid month. Wnt to the LVLO to renew, a casual questions to whether the policy had changed as to reminders brought a very snotty response.....People Skills nil point, Customer Service nil point.

My renewal came on Thursday and I was going to wait, but the paper's have reminded me it's the budget on Wednesday. Better to sort early rather than possibly having to pay more, so I've just paid on line.

hear that road tax may go up for 4x4"s in the budget on radio 2 this morning

Can't see the changes making much of a difference to most people What difference is 20 quid tax going to make on a 40k Rangie ?. Me ? - Scratch one Defender onto Agricultural tax.
Exactly! I'm not even sure exactly what the difference between the lowest and highest bands is, but it is not enough to make any difference. If it was, I think I'd have noticed... Also, I don't know anyone who bases their car buying decision on the car tax band; they'd have to be pretty short sighted to do so IMO.
We we already have an emmissions based tax called fuel duty anyway - the more you use/buy, the more you pay!

Renewed on-line this morning in less than two minutes - certainly saves the hassle of coming out of work and queueing in a post office.

if you are the registered keeper of the vehicle then most post offices now only require your v5c and your insurance certificate, they scan the v5c for relevant details.
Dont know how far from the end of the month you can do this though.

I can confidently predict a cut in Road Tax tomorrow. This is based on the fact that I renewed mine today, and if it wasn't for bad luck I would have no luck at all.
Tom - partly correct! If you have a low polluting vehicle wait until Friday to tax your car - it may be cheaper possibly nothing. If you have a gas guzzler do it today because you will be hammered tomorrow!
