how much at auction - nathnamdo
Hi, I was thinking of buying a 02 reg passat SE with under 70000 miles in good condition. Does anyone know how much I would expect to pay roughly for this car at auction?

Popular used car so you'll probably have to end up paying very very close to trade price (use the CAP price). If there are other private buyers also interested in the same car or a trader who has a customer lined up for it, you could end up in a bidding war and the price going up towards retail. I don't have the CAP book, perhaps someone else here does. You need to let us know the engine variant for a valuation.

Should also have added saloon or estate?

Parkers.co.uk quote for a 2002/02, 30,000 mile, 4dr saloon:

130 bhp petrol - £5,995 - px
130 bhp diesel - £8,050 - px

Not sure what the engine variant is but it is a passat 2.0 litre SE saloon with 70 000 miles.

Might be wrong though I would gues that a 2002 2.0 Passat would be the 115bhp engine, didnt the 130 come along a little later?

No. By 2002 they were offering 100 or 130 PDi engine options.

Sorry, just re-read the thread and see that you were referring to petrol engined Passat.
