vw passat tdi 130 electric windows 03/01 - silverfox1957

I have march 2001 passat and both front and rear electric windows on driver side front and passenger rear have intermitently failed to either open or close when used .

As the car had CControl i have not used opened the windows very often , i am concerned that the motors will need replacing , do i need to use a VW garage solve the problem / replace motors to do this ? is their a more economical approach thanks
