A4 Flashing interior lights

A4 Flashing interior lights - sid13
My interior lights come on and fade off with the engine running the dash also shows the drivers door as being open but is shut i have fitted a new door lock with contact switch but it is still doing it any ideas anyone? its a 2000 1.6 auto A4

Just a thought if you remove the driver and passenger end dash trims (trims you can only get to when the doors are open) look at where the dash bar bolts to the car with 17mm nuts, VAG had a bit of a run of trapping the wires behind this bar and sbolting the bars in whichin time caused wiring faults! might not be the problem but worth a look!
