Insurance dealings - Greg R
My father had an accident which was the fault of the other driving. In trying to deal with the claim, he has only been offered £200 because of the low value of the car.

Now the car has a scratch all the way from the rear to the front and the mirror was ripped off following a minor scrape with the vehicle in question.

The insurance company also dealt with the claim.

What is the best next step for him? Should he voice his concern by letter and how should the letter be worded.

Any advice would be brilliant.

Thanks in advance

Greg

Doesn't the other insurance company have to repair the car if your father insists on it, as it wasn't his fault?

I believe that may be the case.

But as with most insurance companies, getting my message across can be quite a challenge.

I will make a phone call and write a letter to the insurance company on my fathers behalf. I will put everything in writing so if I have to I can always go to the ombudsman.

Thanks for that.

Anymroe information would be wonderful.

I don't think you've given us enough information. From whose insurance company was the offer of £200? Was it an estimated repair cost or what? How much was the car worth before the accident?
