Don't ask how this subject cam around, but myself and others were discussing which magic tree was our favourite. Consensus seemed to be in favour of New car (my personal preference - but never had a new car that smelt like that) or bouqet.
So come on then - whats your favourite or least favourite magic tree.
We also tried to name all the trees and came up with the following - useful I suppose if the poll goes ahead....
Lilac, Jasmine, Lavender, fresh flowers, apple, lemon, strawberry, Berries, peach, spice, forest fresh, vanilla, new car and boquet
If you could create your own - which smell would you most like in your motor???
there may be others - but this was the list of what we had tried.
If nothing else it proves one thing..... There is always someone out there who has more free time on his hands than yourself!

Swear filter speaks US English. Knock the e off and you've an offensive term for a Hispanic.

No particular preference for the smell, just so long as it isn't hanging from the rear view mirror, distracting and obstructing view!
|
I can't have them in the car: make me sneeze. Prefer the car as it is, but I suppose they're a sort of nosegay for smokers?
|

I don't do car air fresherners but if I did I'd like Kouros after shave flavour!

All these odours are laboratory created. So that lavender or pine fragrance you are breathing in is probably poisonous fumes.
I once worked with a fanatical anti-smoker who used to break up a toilet block and push it through the air vents on the pool vans we shared in orde to kill the tobacco odour, till everyone got together and told him where we intended to insert one if he didn't stop.

vanilla
the traffic light air-freshner too, i know its not a magic tree, but it was a good smell.
what was the name?
it had a small pin, so you could poke through the back on 3 different holes.

Feu Orange? Can you still get them?

I think I know which ones vTiredeyes and Manatee are on about. Cardboard with 3 glass circles looking like a traffic light? Orange smell that lasts forever?
I'm now going because I've just realised, I'm talking about an air freshener.

The only cars I've ever been in with a magic tree are taxis. They all seem to make the car smell like a scented loo -- no way I'd have one in a car of mine.

Thought I'd try one in the light of this discussion. Limited choice in Halfords - got the one that trips the swear filter!
No Wheels is spot on. My car now smells like a lavatree!!

Spot on there, Tom!
Prolonged exposure can cause eye irritation and probably affect brain function too. Rather have the blower on or suffer a smell.

Er, we were told it was something rude in the far east. (One of Growler's threads) Which is it?
