Nil of course!
Mind you, I still drive the same old truck, while the boss has given all the new (54 & 05 plate) motors to the chain smoking 9 pointers.

I don't have any points.
I used to have an endorsement though!

This should sort the responsible drivers from the hooligans!

Are we allowed to say "touch wood"?

I don't want to answer this one. It seems too much like tempting fate.
I do have to drive home tonight, you know...
|
would have been 3, but when i was on 9 three years ago, my boss asked me if it was me or the wife was driving the company car, when the "car" was flashed somewhere in wales.
i said me
he said whooooooooo?
i said me
he said who
i said aha! the wife.
so she had my points, but i did the gracious thing and paid the £60 fine
;-)
good arnt I !!!!!!!!!!

None.
I really hope I don't regret voting in this poll...
|
with crossed fingers I ask:
"What are points or endorsements?"
madf
|
Ooooh....finally I get to play the pedant game!
Are we talking points actually written on the paper bit of the licence or points you have that haven't expired yet?
I can't vote til I know, sorry!
|

Surely if they haven't expired, they will also be written on the licence?
|
What would be interesting for the next poll is a list of options for what the points are for. E.g.;
1. Speeding related offence
2. Insurance Offence
3. Dangerous Driving Offence
You get the picture anyway.

Yep i think it would be a good idea to see what we've all been done for.
Mine were for speeding (70 in a 30 - oops!)
|
Yes...but just supposing you had nine points written on the licence, but six of them had expired. If you'd had no reason to get a new licence recently, it would still look like you had nine points, wouldn't it?
I don't have nine points btw!
|
But you can point out that six are out of date.I do have nine btw, none expired,but-3 for 35 in a 30,police trap on an industrial estate on a Sunday a.m.-3 for 36 in a 30,police trap,I was just following this big black Hum V your honour-and the last lot-O.K.I dashed off to catch the bank and forgot about a camera.
Incidentally, the dictionary says endorse means a)support b)give permission c)punish.I wonder which one they mean....

I don't know what's going on, but it appears the site that hosts the poll has died.
Normal service to resume as soon as possible.
**UPDATE** Working again now. DD.

It couldn't believe so many of us were totally law abiding goody-two-shoes with no points :-))

Is it illogical? It must be Citroen....

Perhaps it's more accurate to say that so many people havnt been caught yet.

i've got 3 points actual on my license, they're from about 5 or 6 years ago so they've expired and i guess i should get them taken off.

It might have been a different result if the poll had asked what the total number of points were that you had been awarded to date! Incidentally, after my points expired (but were still on my paper licence) I was asked by a car hire company whether I had EVER had any endorsements and I admitted to an SP30. Did I need to have done?

The two people who've voted that they've got 12 points on their licence - don't you get the licence taken off you when you get 12 points?
I've had six but only currently have three. The first 3 were for doing 37 in a 30, caught by the Hampshire Officer who was all over the media for his crusade to catch speeders a few years back.
The current three I blame on Baden Powell - I was dashing so that I wouldn't be late for a Thinking Day ceremony and got flashed by one of the many safety cameras on the A34 where the limit switches between 40 and 60.

err no i had 14 and kept my licence . it's at magistrates discretion . licence is clean now though . and no i aint saying what they were for. but i was surprised not to get a ban for the totting up...cheers...keo.

>>what the total number of points were that you had been awarded to date!
Damn - I dunno - Thirty-something, perhaps more.
>>Did I need to have done?
Probably not. How old was it ?

Tut tut tut!
>>Did I need to have done? Probably not. How old was it ?
Expired 5 years. Could the car hire company have found found out if I'd fibbed and had said "none ever"? I've since been told that generally they are not interested in minor speeding offences.
