Dealers keep telling me they'll give me 'book price' for my wife's 1996N car but it doesn't seem to be in the book!
Glass only goes back to 1997 so where are they plucking the figures from. One was honest enough to tell me it wasn't in Glass or CAP. I got a Glass valuation for a 1997P and deducted £500 from it but it is nowhere near.
Car is a BMW 318Ti 1.9 Auto 53000 FBMWSH in near perfect condition except for some slight fading of the Red paint. £2500 is the sort of figure they come up with yet Glass says around £4000 for a 1997P.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I've got a copy of glass's from July last year sat here on my desk so i can have a bit of a calculated guess at the price.
The price for a 318Ti Auto was 3600 based on good condition and 74k. So for a year on i would say £2500 isn't too far off the mark.
With this age of vehicle CAP would give a better indication of value.

Thanks for the response.
I was thinking around £2800 considering it's condition and mileage. Just shows thinking can be a mistake :-(
