Skoda Octavia DSG Wait - Simon (Anne\'s Other Half)
SWMBO dragged me to a Skoda dealer to test drive the new Octavia DSG. She liked it enough to think about changing and I started talking deals with the salesman. A few interesting things emerged.
They have 2 DSG's in which they are using as demo cars.
One is sold for 1st March registration, the other is being kept.
Skoda cannot get anymore DSG's built until July, ready for September/October delivery. Hence keeping the second car.
If we placed an order/struck a deal now we would not get any discount off the 15k price or any car for 6 or 7 months.
An internet dealer was quoting UK sourced cars with only 12 week delivery and nearly a grand off the price.
Added to that he was knocking 2k off the price of SWMBO's CRV because it was an imported car. Despite being built in Swindon to UK spec and having a Cert. of Conformity.
I'm not a happy bunny.
