Hi all
got to take a vauxhall company car soon.
but which one would you go for?
me=none, but have to, or i will be walkin !
at the moment its looking like the signum 2.0 turbo.
with colour sat and xenons.
any idea's?
will have to pay extra over a £16K baseline.

Is that £16k list or £16k that the company will spend for you?

Signum - left field enough to be different.

Before I opted for my current company vehicle, I was interested in the Signum for being different. But back then there was a massive premium over a Vectra and the new 1.9CTDi's were a year away.... Went for a Mondeo with a EuroIV 130ps diesel.
With 150PS available for the new FIAT engines (that are Euro 4 compliant) I'd be seriously tempted to go for that instead of the petrol. You'll pay a lot less in company car tax -- in 2006 the 3% reduction for BIK for EuroIV diesels will be removed for new cars.
When I was choosing, list price and monthly charges were not the only thing I took into account. Taking tax and MPG into account the Mondeo TDCi (and now a Vauxhall CDTi) was a lot cheaper in real terms.
Then again.... I decided to stay in company scheme for various reasons..... but can't you just take the money> Think I'd get between £5-6k before tax and NI.

Does it have to be a "Vauxhall" or can it be streteched to GM group cars? If so Saab could become as an option.
If not, I'd go with Signum provided you don't need more than a 4 seater.

Good point re Saab though not for £16k.
I would look at a Vectra 1.9CDTi, hatch more attractive that the Signum, estate very practical. Otherwise the new Astra estate looks good, more a sports wagon that a lard ar$ed estate, could get a well speced one for £16K.
Regards.

Assuming we are talking about P11D value then 16K will get you an Astra 1.7CDti SXi estate ( 80 bhp) . OTOH a Signum 2.0T is 20K P11D value?? according to my company car list anyway.
Personally I'd go for the Vectra estate with 1.9 CDTi SXi (120 bhp) with P11D value of 19.5 K.

I think Vectra's are great, am I allowed to say that?

like the look of signum 2.0turbo.
i think we can have petrols, not too sure, gota wait another week, to see.
after the takeover of the company.
they are letting us keep opt out scheme for 1 year.
(reason for my coupe question)
or do i bite the bullet and go with signum.
if we have their comp car. its gota be a estate.
astra est
vectra est
signum
merviva?
zalflower? zalferia? ;-)
the inside of vectra/signum look awful. much like new 5 series.
just bland.
but astra looks cosy. but estate looks a bit pink fluffy dice.
they only one that would suit me (i think is)
2.0turbo signum, black or dark blue design?
twin tailpipes and would look ok IMHO
OR
do i keep opt out scheme for a year???
and yes monro would be a BIG favourite, but i dont think they would like the fuel bill :-(
