406 coupe tyres - help please - mad mike
I have a 3.0 406 coupe with Michelin Pilot Premacy's on. The standard size is 215/55/16 i want to drop it to 225/50. Can i do this? Should i replace the standard with Pilot Sports?

The tyres might foul parts of the suspension or brakes, but if you've checked out the rolling radius and it's close (within 2-3%) then no reason why not. The ride will be a tad harsher of course with the lower profile.

With regard to replacement with a different tyre, it's entirely up to you. If they are the correct size, and the same (or better) speed & load rating, then no reason why not. I suggest you trawl the forum for possible alternatives. There is unfortunately no right answer, but you might find certain tyres are more suitable than others, and you may prefer a better-gripping tyre to a more comfortable tyre.....good luck.
