Hi All,
I have a slight problem with a vibration at idle on my Mondeo TDCi, it has only recently occured and sounds like a loose bracket or mounting around the front lower off side of the engine. It is not a typical diesel type rattle and cannot be felt through the car, only heard. As soon as the throttle is touched raising the revs marginally it disapears, it can be induced by loading the engine via steering input. The dealer says it is a "known concern" and a TSB is to be raised on this matter in January. Does anyone have any more info on this?
Also a TSB has been posted on these forums relating to the adjustment of the Focus boot catch. Does one exist relating to the Mondeo boot catch?

The Ford TIS (Technical Information System) disc containing TSB's is issued twice a year and the next one will be out soon.
Look out on eBay. They will pop up soon enough next year but make sure it is the Jan 2005 issue.

Can you buy these from Ford or are they a trade secret cd that the public isn't meant to have?
It could be worth getting one but if it's in keeping with Ford prices...

You can buy these from Ford if you're a Ford Main Dealer!
For the likes of us you can buy a pirated copy on Ebay. They usually cost anywhere from £2 to £10 depending on who's selling them.
To the best of my knowledge you cannot buy one legitimately.

New tailgate rubber bump stops have been installed, in production, since 17.01.2001 (build code 1J).
Service Instructions
See Summary.
1. Open the tailgate.
µ 2. Remove the tailgate rubber bump stops on both sides.
l Drill out two rivets (each side).
l Remove the remains of the rivets and swarf.
3. Install the new tailgate bump stops using new rivets (see Parts Required).
4. Check the tailgate to bodywork gap measurement according to Subsection 501-26G (Workshop Manual/TIS-CD). Adjust the tailgate as necessary.
Can't see anything re. vibration at idle for the TDCi, what year is it?
