Hi all
i have a rover 75 club se cdt estate 51 plate registered dec01
it has 100'000 miles on, frsh.
cream in colour and not leather.
what could i put it in the autotrader for?
the cheapest cdt like mine is £6999. thats on a national search
for cdt estate. there are 4 on a national search under £7000
its in good condition, 1 stone chip on bonnet.
i am hoping a taxi driver would like it !
i was thinking about putting in autotrader for £6100
any idea's?

if you put it in for £5799 i reckon you will sell it fast.

£6100 is a funny price - it's going to just miss out on people putting £6k in on AutoTrader and implies you don't want to haggle...
If you don't mind it hanging around, you could try £6,999 - www.usedcarsales.net who are generally very cheap have a similar car in solid (bleurgh!) navy with 103k, on an 02 plate though for that - so £6,499 should do it. You can always haggle off an extra £500 if need be.

I thought about £6100 as i would like £6K for the car.
but like you say £6499 or even £6399 might get a few lookers !

If you want £6k, then put it in for that, or rather £5,995. That way you'll pick up all the people who selected £6k as their top budget, your car will look newest against all the others up to £6k (vs a lot more competition when selecting the next bracket up of £7k).
When your phone rings off the wall because the car is such a bargain, you'll be less inclined to haggle away from the asking price as they say "first to view will buy". (Of course don't put that crass statement in your ad!)
I always sell my cars like this. When the offers begin, I say simply "that is a very sensible offer, however the car is priced very competitively. May I call you back in x days if I haven't sold it for the asking price?". Most people will cave in and pay the asking price (if it's sensible).

cheers for that.
there is not 1 which is less than £6950
there are 5 in the whole country.
just phoned the gold mettalic up, it has 110K miles.
and its a y plate.
so mine for £5995 would a good price.
cheers for that ColinM
how would i go about selling it, but asking them to pick up in dec. that is when my new car will be ready?
i do around 4K miles a month.
