Best Deal/Broker for VW Golf GT TDi 140? - bonkersrob
Dear All (and honestjohn!),

Can any of you guys help me please! Do you know where the best place is (or who is the best broker) in order to get the best deal on a new, UK-supplied VW Golf GT TDi 140 (5 door).

I've spoken to Motor Provider, who can provide one for £16,600 (including metallic paint). I would of course have to pick the car up in Sheffield, but it sounds a good deal. They also stated that the car would be registered with them as the first owner for 2 days, and then I would be registered as the second keeper.

Has anyone used Motor Provider before - what are they like? Is this a good deal?

Kind Regards, Rob

A few places you may like to try are

www.carfile.net
www.broker4cars.co.uk
www.drivethedeal.co.uk

All three are offering similar prices to what you\'ve been quoted but you would be the first owner and deal direct with a UK main dealer.

I obtained a similar quote from Motorprovider in August for £16,500. Their Golfs are EU parallel imports, to full UK spec they said. Their website (and HJ site) actually advertise the deal for under £16K but Motorprovider adds on various supplemental charges such as road tax and metallic paint.

You can get a UK supplied TDI 140 from Drivethedeal for only another couple of hundered, so that may be better.

Personally, I have ordered my EU import Laser Blue 5 door GT TDI from Motorpoint for £15,900 altogether. They were the cheapest when I scoured the web for a few weeks. Only catch is they cannot yet confirm exact spec as only built last week. They have 3 door models, but might get more of the 5 doors in soon, not sure?

I too have spoke to motorprovider and went to see them.

I looked at some cars they had that were waiting to be collected which was nice.

They are UK dealer supplied cars. They told me that they had some imports earlier but because UK cars were only £400 more they ordered more UK cars as they are easier to sell for £400 more.

Makes sense to me £400 more and 3 years warranty and breakdown cover and no problems when I come to sell it on and I have know the spec.

Spoke to a couple of brokers but I couldnt go and see them which worried me slightly.

I fetch my new car next week which arrived with them Friday.
