Have just bought a new Scenic (with hands-free card) and am trying to follow the instruction book on how to disable the factory alarm.
Looks like you press the Start button 5 times, shut the door, lock the car......ok, I follow it up to this point, but would that be 1 press of the card/door button, or 2 (deadlocking)? Or doesn't it matter? It all gets a bit vague after that.
I could go to my dealer for help next week, but I'm hoping some readers will be able to put me right this evening, thanks!

Pretty sure it was one when we did it on swmbo megane. Alarm used to go off every 10 mins with volumetric sensor on.
Now, just got to get that moonroof to close..............

Why do you want to disable the alarm? Is it giving you problems? Could be a potential problem if insurance company found out? Reason I am asking is I had problems with my Scenic alarm which are now fixed.

Thanks for your replies. I only want to be able to turn off the alarm when the car is in the drive with sunroof open, or when leaving someone in the car with the doors locked (not deadlocked of course!)
Anyone with a Scenic who does this? If so what method do you use?
Thanks.

It is the volumetric sensor that you need to disable.

Hi CakeMan yes its not very clear how to dissable ultrasonic volumetric sensor. what I do is insert the card into dash board slot (mine is not hands free- but assume it must be similar)press start button 5 times with delay of no longer than about 5 seconds between pushes, withdraw card ,shut door and lock once. Locking twice ie deadlocking will close any open windows.
hope this is of help
