I need some serious help ,My engine has blown up ,bigends have shot straight thru the side of the engine,im having terrible trouble trying to find someone who will put a engine in for me,also sourcing it is getting hard ..any advice would be great ....im in croydon ,the engine is a 3ct with mech fuel pump ,2.2turbo diesel 4wd.......need this as the kids are off school ,cant afford to go away this year ,so i was going to take them camping and stuff......always the way init.......

Have you tried the online second hand parts dealers? Like findapart etc. They usually come back with a response pretty quickly. Ask them if they\'ll fit it for you.
Buy a new car. You can get yourself a landrover off eBay for £700 & sell it at the end of the summer - it\'ll be more fun for camping than any other car and depreciation will be nil! cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=...1
Or a VW Campervan.

tar people ill have a peek at those,but i tried all day today and came up with nowt......i wanna cry(well i did),cant get rid of the thing as my girls love it,just need a nice workshop to say we can do it today come collect it in 3 days...........just bought it as well,

My local mechanic has had atleast two of these estimas that i no of in the last year with the same prob!!Hes a honest guy who's been around a long time and is always spoken of highly.Alot of other local garages pass this type of job onto him and he's not too far from you (chessington surrey).

I have no idea what your car is or how much it's worth.
But you just bought it? for how much? a repair like this is going to cost something like a grand, maybe 1500 maybe more (I don't know your car)and if the new engine is no good what then? Are you sure you don't want to throw it away and get another?
