Can some kind soul tell me if a Favorit Flairline LX1e has a separate gearbox oil system or does the engine oil act as lubricant for the gearbox.
Many thanks.

I stand to be flamed by other members on this forum, but I would suggest that g/box oil is ep 80 or 90 and is totally divorced from your engine oil.
i think that most of the motor manufactures have learned from BMC's (mini, 1100, 1300) mistake that combining engine and gearbox with one shared oil resevoir was a recipe for disaster.
Certainly the "old" Skoda designs followed conventional thinking, and I have no doubt that the newer cars also follow suit.

You'll find that shouldn't happen here, as myself, No Dosh, or Mark(RLBS) will jump on anyone before they get the chance to.

Definitely separate - SWMBO had a Felicia which was a re-skinned Favorit, separate gearbox.

I haven't done SWMBOs Felicia - I let the garage do it, because..
ISTR the re-filling is V awkward:
remove the speedo cable and fill down that hole!
I might be wrong though.

Don't assume that the gearbox/diff uses gear oil. some use engine oil. Check with a dealer first. Mikey
