Saw my first Continental GT on the road today.
I was driving past East Midlands Airport with my foot down in my Impreza Turbo and the Bentley just blasted past me as if i was standing still. That is QUICK.
It was a magnificent sight, and sound. I want one very, very badly - now where's that lottery ticket??

Saw one being test-driven through Congleton last year, before they were released. They'd taken all badges off it, including from the wheel centres, but fitted number plates with 'Bentley Motor Company' written acros them.
It looked fantastic in the flesh, so much so that I used my knowledge of the back streets to get ahead of it in the traffic at several points to get a better look from different angles.

still haven't changed my opinion from my earlier post about these - very ugly indeed!!! Even worse than the X3 that I saw this morning.
|
Have you seen one in the metal CM? Obviously you're entitled to your opinion, but if you've only seen photographs, I don't think they do the car justice.

Tiff managed 190mph on the test track after he promised not to thrash it!!

The view from France:
That Tiffany Dell is still behaving like an overgrown schoolkid then...
Every Bentley Continental from the R Type fastback (echoed in the new GT) in 1952 has been gorgeous, but I guess you youngsters wouldn't remember...

Agree completely, Bazza. So much more impressive in the metal.

I've sen 2. The first, coincidentally, not far from East Midlands Airport on the A50 heading towards Stoke. I saw the second yesterday in a rather run-down part of a Northern town when I (a stranger) took a wrong turn trying to find my way out.
|
I've also seen 2 - both on temporary plates around the Crewe / Nantwich areas on shakedown runs out from the factory.
Being driven slowly....!

I've seen another, heading south out of Warrington - 2 in 2 days - I've gone off this car, far too common.
|
Saw my first yesterday on the industrial estate where I work. It was a silver one and I have to say that it looks better in pics than it did in person. Maybe it was just the wrong colour for the car, but it looked rather plain and slab-sided.
This is not a problem though as I always thought that *when* my numbers come in on Wed or Sat night, it would be a hard decision between the Continental GT or the DB9...that decision just got a whole lot easier.

Just seen my first one on the Western Avenue as it gave way to M40. Previous shape M5 up his jacksie (literally a foot off his rear bumper) for the previous mile, he left the M5 for dead when reaching the NSL stretch.
