my freind bought a 03 plate 1.6 astra club from an unnamed major firm, it'd done 5000 miles.
1000 miles later the head cracked.
he was given a new car.
here's where is starts.
what they gave him was an 03 plate 1.6 astra , with 20000 miles on it. the gearbox crunches 2nd and 4th - it burns 2.5l of oil in 1000 miles, the pedal box is knackered !!!! incase u can't guess it used to be a learner car. !!!!!!!
only thing is someone dented it badly with a car door.
where does he stand in getting a new car ??????????????

For starters, I take it he got some financial compensation for swapping a 6000 mile car for a 20,000 mile car?
Secondly, and I could be wrong here, I know a few driving instructors and none of them trade their car in after a year! Almost all of them hold on for a few years, skinping on services where possible and , in some cases, rewinding the mileometer!
All that is aside, just take the car back, will still be under manufacturers warranty as well. Whats the garage saying?

nope - no change in price between the cars
bsm change the cars after 9 mths or 16500 miles whichever is first.
we are going in on friday to c about taking it back, im worried bout it cos it\'s dented quite badly on the n/s wing
